ALLEN JUAN ZEGARRA ACEVEDO is originally from Lima, Perú, and has lived in the U.S. since 2016. He teaches Spanish at Dickinson College and is a journalist by training with a calling for teaching and a deep passion for writing. His published work includes a novel, short stories, poetry, and academic essays.

Allen is drawn to the extraordinary within the ordinary. His writing explores themes such as family, nature, animals, and friendship, often blurring the line between lived experience and fiction. In 2018, he was awarded the “Novel Beginnings” scholarship by the Highlights Foundation. He is currently editing a series of short stories centered on travel and immigration.
