REIMENA YEE is a graphic novelist, illustrator, designer, and comics advocate whose work straddles the peculiar and the whimsical. Originally from the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, she is now based in Melbourne, Australia. Her passion for history, culture, and storytelling initially led her down a STEM path, but she ultimately chose to express her love for the world through art and narrative.

As a creator, Reimena is behind a diverse range of graphic novels, including the gothic The World in Deeper Inspection, the Eisner-nominated The Carpet Merchant of Konstantiniyya, the coming-of-age Séance Tea Party, the whimsical adventure My Aunt is a Monster, and her ongoing retelling of Alexander the Great’s life in Alexander, The Servant & The Water of Life. She also co-writes the Makers Club series with Tintin Pantoja. Her works have received widespread recognition, with nominations for the Eisner, McDuffie, Ignatz, and Cartoonist Studio Prize awards, along with selections for ALA's Best Graphic Novels lists and the Angoulême Sélection Jeunesse.

Beyond her own creations, Reimena’s unique illustrative style has enhanced various projects like Adventure Time, Dropmix, Girls Make Games, DFTBA’s Bizarre Beasts, and Penguin Workshop, among others. She is also deeply committed to comics outreach and education. As a co-founder of UNNAMED, a grassroots collective supporting Southeast Asian comics, and The Cartoonist Coop, an international community of cartoonists, she actively cultivates spaces for creators. Additionally, she curates The Creator’s Guide of Comics Devices and shares educational resources through her blog.

Reimena currently serves as the lead data administrator and executive manager at Hiveworks Comics, where she continues her mission to support and uplift the comics ecosystem.
