KÁROLY LENCSÉS (b. 1976, Nyíregyháza, Hungary) is a poet and visual artist. He began writing in childhood and has never set the habit aside. His poems have appeared widely in Hungarian literary magazines and anthologies, and he has published two volumes of poetry. In 2023 he received the András Dugonics Literary Prize, a reader-voted award that celebrates contemporary Hungarian literature.

The poetry by Lencsés published in this issue of The Pasticheur is the work of ÁGNES MEGYERI (b. 1975, Székesfehérvár, Hungary). She discovered her love for the English language in her early teens, an interest that led her to spend several years in England and to dedicate more than three decades to teaching the language. Alongside her teaching career, she has pursued prose writing, with work appearing in Hungarian literary magazines. Her experience as both writer and teacher opened the way to literary translation, and she now translates Hungarian poetry and short stories into English.
