THOMAS LAMB was born in 1978 in the United Kingdom and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and then a Master of Fine Arts in drawing, both from Wimbledon School of Art in London.
Thomas was awarded the Sainsbury Scholarship in Painting and Sculpture, British School at Rome (2001-03) and the Prince of Wales Bursary for the Arts in Athens (2006).
His group exhibitions include Responding to Rome at the Estorick Collection of Modern Art, London and Hyogo International Competition of Painting, Hyogo Museum of Art, Kobe, Japan, and a three-person show at Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, also in Japan. He was most recently shortlisted for the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize (2018). Some of his earlier work was included in the Discerning Eye and the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition Mall Galleries (2013/14). In 2008, 2011, 2014, and 2017, Thomas held solo exhibitions at Browse & Darby, in London.
Thomas Lamb's current work involves the landscape, its transformation through the seasons, and how we engage with this transformation. He is interested in exploring the boundaries between perception, imagination, and reality, between what we see, feel, and remember of a place.
