JEFFLARASON is an American photographer whose work explores the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit. Born in the Midwest, he has lived and photographed across the United States, developing a visual language shaped by movement, observation, and an enduring fascination with the geometry of everyday life. Working primarily in Boston and Cambridge, Larason is best known for his street photography, where architecture, light, shadow, and the human figure converge in images that are at once formally precise and emotionally suggestive.

A founding member of the Boston Streets Collective, Larason has spent decades documenting urban environments through both traditional and mobile photography. His images often isolate fleeting moments of solitude within crowded cities, revealing a quiet, contemplative dimension of contemporary urban experience. Critics have noted the strong graphic qualities of his photographs, their interplay of light and shadow, and their ability to transform familiar locations into spaces of ambiguity and reflection.

His work has been exhibited widely in the United States and internationally, including exhibitions at the Griffin Museum of Photography, the Boston Center for the Arts, Plaxall Gallery in New York, and numerous juried and invitational exhibitions. He is the recipient of several awards, including the Grand Prize in the New York Center for Photographic Art’s Street Photography competition and multiple honors from the Mobile Photography Awards. His photographs have appeared in publications such as Street Photography Magazine, F-Stop Magazine, Camera and Darkroom, and the Daily Mail.

In addition to his photographic practice, Larason has worked professionally in radio, television, and public safety communications. He is also the founder of The Crit House, a platform dedicated to photographic critique and creative development. His book Sonder gathers more than three decades of street photography and reflects his sustained interest in the unnoticed encounters, transient gestures, and quiet narratives that shape public life.
