JOHN CHANG was born and raised in Shanghai, China, and is currently based in Southern California. His art has been widely exhibited in prestigious venues, including the Alexander Brest Museum at Jacksonville University, FL; Fresh Paint Art Gallery, Culver City, CA; Palm Springs Art Museum, CA; COOS Art Museum, OR; and the Massillon Museum, OH. His work has also been featured in notable publications such as Pasadena Star-News, KTLA, Art in America, and Art Ltd.
John's creations are part of several prominent collections, including the San Diego International Airport, the San Diego Civic Art Collection, The Star Hotel in Sydney, Australia, Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and the Regis Hotel in New York. His work is also held by the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Art in Taiwan.
John holds an MFA in Visual Art from the College of Art and Design at Lesley University and a BA from the School of Art and Design at the Shanghai Institute of Technology, China. He has studied under renowned artists such as Xu Bing and Judith Barry.
John Chang's art is deeply influenced by his East-West identity, which enriches his work with a sense of memory and evokes vivid flashbacks of lives lived across diverse cultures and landscapes.
