TRACY TSE creates large-scale sculptures using plarn (plastic yarn) and labor-intensive textile techniques. Her work draws on her background as a seamstress and is inspired by traditional craftsmanship and innovation in technique and design.

A graduate of Rutgers University with a BFA in Studio Art and Expanded Media, Tse also completed minors in Art History and Digital Studies, earning top honors in her program. Her interdisciplinary projects included reconstructing historical garments from paintings and weaving Morse code into textiles to explore the shared history of computers and Jacquard looms. She presented her work twice at Rutgers’ Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity (CURCA) and contributed to the Bio Design Challenge with research on urban soil remediation.

Tse’s artistic foundation began in her family’s tailor shop, where she learned sewing and mending from her mother and grandmother. Before pursuing fine arts, she studied Fashion Design at Camden County Technical School.

Her work has been exhibited at venues including The Delaware Contemporary, Art O Mat, Marlin Art Gallery, Stedman Gallery, Camden Fireworks, and Rutgers Campus Gallery. Currently based in New Jersey, Tse continues to expand her practice through exhibitions and residencies, with a focus on sustainability, community engagement, and the preservation of craft traditions.
