LYNN WHITE was born in Sheffield, England, when the city was a major center of steel production. The loss of her father during childhood and her experience of poverty have shaped her enduring concern with social justice, a theme reflected in her poetry. She later moved to Liverpool as a student, developing a lasting affection for the city and its literary and musical traditions. She now lives in a small former industrial town in the mountains of North Wales. Her poetry draws on political and social concerns, personal experience, memory, and imagination, often exploring the boundaries between dreams, fantasy, and reality. She favors accessible, unpretentious language and poetic forms that resist unnecessary ornamentation. Her favorite poem remains Lawrence Lerner’s “Raspberries.” White was shortlisted for Theatre Cloud’s War Poetry for Today competition and has received nominations for the Pushcart Prize, Best of the Net, and the Rhysling Award. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including Apogee, Firewords, Gyroscope,Light Journal, and So It Goes Journal.
