MARGIT J. FÜREDER, (Linz, Austria) Is a poet of pigment and time, She crafts large-format paintings that freeze everyday moments in a cinematic hush, while unveiling hidden strata of memory and emotion,

Working from photographs, often of women on the move, dreamlike figures, or fleeting gestures, she builds layered narratives. Oil, acrylic, print, and photography intermix and clash before being scratched, scraped, dissolved, and reconfigured. The result is textured surfaces reminiscent of archaeological digs, revealing traces of text, color, and time.

Her technique, scratching letters into wet paint only to partially erase them, captures the tension between existence and transcendence, presence and absence. This meditative “obstacle course” of creation leaves each canvas with an energetic buoyancy between real and ethereal.

Exhibiting internationally since her 2008 breakthrough (Art International Zurich, Art Basel Miami), she has shown in galleries across Europe, Asia, and the U.S.; from Salzburg and Vienna to Los Angeles, Miami, and Hong Kong. Her work resonates with hypnotic beauty and coded mystery, inviting viewers to become archaeological explorers of their own perceptions.
