JIANQING (JOHN) ZHENG is the author of six poetry collections, including Dreaminations (2026), Visual Chords (2025), The Dog Years of Reeducation (2023), and A Way of Looking (2021). He is also the coauthor of Soulful Dancer (with William Ferris) and Still Motion (with Leo Touchet), and the editor of six books, including African American Haiku: Cultural Visions and The Other World of Richard Wright. A three-time recipient of a Mississippi Arts Commission artist fellowship, Zheng has lived and taught in Mississippi since 1991.
