LEONORA FLIS is an Associate Professor of Literature at the University of Nova Gorica and a lecturer in English at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Her research spans literary theory, contemporary British and American literature, film (particularly its relationship to literature), graphic novels, and literary journalism. In addition to her academic work, she writes book and film reviews, translates scholarly and literary texts, and authors short stories.

She has published two collections of short stories: Upogib časa (The Bending of Time, 2015) and Enakozvočja (Homonymies, 2022). She was awarded a Fulbright fellowship and served as a visiting Fulbright scholar at Columbia University in New York. She is also the author of the monograph Factual Fictions: Narrative Truth and the Contemporary American Documentary Novel (2010), and her scholarly articles appear in both Slovenian and international academic journals.

She is a member of the International Association for Literary Journalism Studies, the Slovene Literary Critics Association, and the Slovene Association of Literary Translators.
