ANGELIKA KOLLIN (b. 1976) is an Estonian fine art/documentary photographer residing in Tampa, USA.
She is a self-taught artist who, through photography and art, explores human interconnectivity and intimacy. She explains that the dynamo that moves her work is a lifelong yearning to understand and gain a deeper perspective on human loneliness and suffering and faith's role in overcoming it. Angelika's work is direct, yet the aura of intimate emotions and dignity is a subtle metaphor for the messages and ideas her images wish to convey.
Angelika spent eight years living in African countries (Ghana, Namibia, and South Africa), exploring the same topics in various cultures and conditions. These experiences, she states, have strengthened her belief that what shapes our identities is our relationship with our parents, despite its nature and situations. During these eight years, Angelika also redefined her artistic and aesthetic approach.
The selection published in this issue of The Pasticheur is a considerable body of Angelika’s work. We are grateful for her contribution and generosity.
More of Angelika’s images may be enjoyed on her website and IG Account.
