FLORA MAE NGUYEN is a French artist of Vietnamese origin. She was born in Paris in 1975 and still lives in her hometown, where she studied photography at Ecole des Gobelins (Paris- 2013). In 2014, encouraged by Igor Mukhin, she continued her studies at the Rodchensko School of Multimedia in Moscow.
In her photographs, Flora questions the feminine through urban landscapes, the street, and memory. Recently, she has done this more committedly by diverting colonial and exotic representations.
Flora Mae Nguyen’s work has been exhibited at The French Embassy in Moscow, at The International Chamber of Commerce, the Festival of Photographic Encounters of the 10th District, in Paris, and the Photographic Collection of the City of Paris, among other venues.
Today, she continues working with photography, exploring its limits by hybridizing it with other visual arts (painting, video, sculpture, alternative techniques) and writing.
More of Flora’s work may be found on her website.
