Emily as I Stumble Across It

Walls blur. Time blurs,
too. I see Emily clearly
when she wants me to

& isn’t that the whole
of love? To be hidden
when you want to hide

& to be seen clearly
when you’re seen at all.
I’m willing to close

my eyes. I’m willing
to appreciate
the inelegance of love.

If I only see her from
the ground then at least
I’ll have travelled

to a place of great beauty.

Emily as Not Here #2

Sure, spill to provoke,
but I wanted these treasures
to have a place

even when they are loud
elsewhere. I didn’t want
someone that couldn’t leave.

I wanted Emily to track
my fear as a distance.
All real magic is a risk.

All tricks end in disbelief.
Sometimes Indiana
is too damn far for me.

Emily as Yellow & Dark Red

The sky is fat
& all I see is Emily
in costume.
